In May 2011 Delta made the move to chemistry-free plate processing.
The use of Agfa Azura V plates and the addition of a new clean-out unit (COU) means it is no longer necessary to use developer. This results in a dramatic reduction in waste disposal and apart from maintenance cleaning, water usage is eliminated.
Chemistry-free operation helps to minimise our environmental impact and creates a better working environment for operators as the cleaning process is simplified. All our used plates are sent for recycling.
We promote the use of recycled papers wherever possible, and waste paper is also sent for recycling.
We use Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) recognised papers from certified suppliers.
We use vegetable (not oil) based inks on all CMYK jobs, whilst on press colour control systems help to shorten make-ready times and reduce set-up and waste.
We aim to implement further environmental policies which will be listed here as they are introduced.
